Fashion News: The Launch of Versace For H&M

So I know I'm not the only one who is super excited about the Versace/ H&M collabaration which is set to hit London stores November 17th (let the countdown begin!). No doubt, there will be a lot clothes flying, fights over mirror space and plenty of squabbling over sizes (think tug of war, minus the mud, plus lots of Versace). So make sure you come prepared girls and dare I say it...wear flats ( who are we kidding, we need to be comfortable, we'll just save our heels for when we debut our red hot Versace pieces ...yes that's far more of a sensible idea!).

Blake Livley, Emma Roberts, Nikki Minaj, Mark Ronson

The new limited edition range was officially launched yesterday in New York where a star studded runway show and after party took place.

The creative genius, Dontella Versace

"Ladies, if one thing’s for sure, it isn’t always easy finding a cosmetics brand that you can trust. In my 21 years, I have gone through bottles upon bottles of mismatched foundation, been cheated on by waterproof mascara with rain, and worst of all worn concealer that did more exposing than anything else (fashion faux pas isn’t even the word…believe me!) .

I remember my first makeup spree (at the tender age of 16) and I can tell you from firsthand experience; without the right guidance, the makeup hall in Selfridges can be a very daunting place. As I made my way towards the Estee Lauder counter, my attention was drawn to a beautifully poised makeup artist at the Mac Counter. I couldn’t help but staring at her flawless skin, fierce lashes and bright red stained lips (let’s just call her Miss Mac for now). As I took a quick glance around the store I noticed every single makeup artist had a different image. They all defied the notion of conventional beauty and yet were all strikingly attractive in their own individual ways. At this point I didn’t know much about the brand, but I liked what I saw, and I wanted to know more!

Miss Mac sat me down. She talked me through different makeup looks, tricks and products. From foundations to lipsticks, I fell in love with everything she applied on to my skin. It was a truly liberating experience. I felt reborn with a new found confidence. Without hesitation, I bought everything she suggested (I knew vigorously saving all my pocket money would come in handy some day). From this moment onwards an obsession was born and a love affair was formed (not exactly how I imagined love at first sight tbh).
Five years on, Mac cosmetics have become a vital part of my lifestyle. It’s quirky, sexy and extremely versatile (what’s not to love!). Each piece of Mac make up makes a statement. Which allows me to create the perfect makeup look for every occasion. If I am going on a hot date I pull out my “ruby woo” lipstick and it works like a charm every time. My deep purple “Rebel” lipstick makes my gothic chic biker jacket/ maxi skirt ensemble all the more believable. Whilst my “Breezy” blush adds a touch of femininity to my casual but cute days.

Apart from the amazing products and outstanding service that Mac cosmetics offer my favourite thing about the brand is its ability to appeal to everyone as oppose to a specific niche market. Beauty is represented by Mac as something that can’t be categorized, defined or put in a box because it is completely unique to everyone. Each individual is beautiful in their own way and therefore Mac cosmetics are able to offer a range of diverse products, so that there is something for everyone. Mac cosmetics have recently launched a new campaign called “Mac Me Over” which further establishes this positive message by attempting to diminish beauty stereotypes with the use of real life models. What I love so much about this campaign is that it featured model from different races, ages and body types.

So ladies and gentlemen, next time you walk past a Mac counter, grab the nearest makeup artist and scream “MAC ME OVER!” And I can guarantee you will never look back!"
