Tom Ford's Private Blend Lip Colour Collection

So how excited are we about Tom Ford's new lipstick line! The designer has followed in the footsteps of other fashion houses such Burberry and Dolce & Gabbana in launching this super sexy Private Blend Lip Colour Collection extending his fashion house to beauty. The luxury range consists of 12 different shades from a soft Blush nude to Cherry lush and Black Orchid just for more dramatic effect.

At £35 a pop, the line. is definatley one of the most expensive brands on the market. However, with its rave reviews, stunning packaging and backing by beauty experts Estee Lauder there is no doubt that if your looking for an invesment piece for your current makeup wardrobe this product certainly fits the bill.
The somewhat riskay ad campaigns for the collection definatley does'nt shy away from embracing female sexuality and infact celebrates the allure of a womans beauty with ofcourse its focal point being on her lips. According to the campaign, "there's no more dramatic accessory", so i can't wait to grab my hands on a couple of pieces. Tom Ford's new beauty venture is definatley one to keep our eyes on because theirs no doubt that it will be expanding very soon; so Watch THIS SPACE!!!

The Evolution of Fashion

Although we may all be adding the finishing touches to our s/s 2011 wardrobes, lets not forget the importance of past trends which have played an extremely vital role of providing inspiration for current catwalk looks. Whether it be extreme shoulder pads resurected from the 80's or classic tea party dresses deriving from the early 1940's, past trends have undoubtley paved the way for stylistic innovation and excellence in the fashion industry . Nothing spells out Fashion with a captail F like vintage clothing , so with that being said lets take a look at the 1950's for inspiration.

1950's

This vintage edition of Vogue which dates back to the 1950's is the personification of chic elegant minimilasim at it's peak.

A staple piece in a typical 1950's wardrobe would have to definatley be the full skirt with its extremely feminine silhouetee.

Here we see one of the earlier designs of playsuits which inspired the cuts and styles of the ones that are currently on trend in S/S 2011 collections.

Moral of the Fifties Fashion Story : Be ultra feminine, its all about pastel shades, volume and waist clinching outfits. Less Sassy and more Classy ladies!

The Classic LBD vs The Modern LBD

For those of you don't know (and have apparently been living under a rock for the last....well FOREVER) LBD 'Little Black Dress' is a term which has been coined every fashion lover and critic in the industry. For decades the LBD has been noted by every fashionista as a wardrobe essential. Early examples from the 1940's demonstrated by the likes of fashion vertern Audrey Hepburn tended to be demure and feminine. Today the LBD is still going strong but with a modern and more edgy twist.
