The Evolution of Fashion

Although we may all be adding the finishing touches to our s/s 2011 wardrobes, lets not forget the importance of past trends which have played an extremely vital role of providing inspiration for current catwalk looks. Whether it be extreme shoulder pads resurected from the 80's or classic tea party dresses deriving from the early 1940's, past trends have undoubtley paved the way for stylistic innovation and excellence in the fashion industry . Nothing spells out Fashion with a captail F like vintage clothing , so with that being said lets take a look at the 1950's for inspiration.

1950's

This vintage edition of Vogue which dates back to the 1950's is the personification of chic elegant minimilasim at it's peak.

A staple piece in a typical 1950's wardrobe would have to definatley be the full skirt with its extremely feminine silhouetee.

Here we see one of the earlier designs of playsuits which inspired the cuts and styles of the ones that are currently on trend in S/S 2011 collections.

Moral of the Fifties Fashion Story : Be ultra feminine, its all about pastel shades, volume and waist clinching outfits. Less Sassy and more Classy ladies!
