Fashion Algebra: What does the X Factor really stand for?

X Factor 2011
Algebra may not be our favorite pass time but I think it's about time we find out what the X really stands for....
X+Factor = Fashion Factor

We all know that when it comes to the judges the x factor is merely a popularity contest. And lets face it we all know that the most fashionable kid in the playground has the most friends or in this case starts the biggest media frenzy. I was lucky enough to get the chance to see the London auditions and get a first hand look at Tulisa and Kelly turning their swag on. I have to say they looked absolutely flawless with not a hair out of place (all thanks to their glam squads who were on hand to do constant touch ups between takes).

Tulisa is the lady in red in a pleated Alexander McQueen dress paired with Nicholas Kirkwood sandals. Whilst Miss Kelly is rocky a pair of Stella McCartney shorts finished of with a pair of stunning tan Giuseppe Zanotti platform sandals.

Tulisa and Kelly are replacing previous judges Cheryl Cole and Dani Minougue so they have a lot to live up to. I can't wait for the live shows where the hair gets bigger, the heels get higher and the outfits get more extravagant.

Let the fashion wars commence! Look out for Xfactor on ITV this coming September 2011

Music Video Review : Beyonce's Who Run the World (Girls)

QUEEN B IS BACK WITH A VENGEANCE!
It's Finally Here Dolls!
After weeks of anticipation and speculation ,last week, Beyonce finally revealed the video for her new single Who Run the World (Girls).

From the intense choreography to the couture fashion the music video has without a doubt lived up to it's expectations.
The video seems to be set in a post apocalyptic era where Beyonce leads a tribe of about 80,000 women that are fighting a war against men. Beyonce uses horses, lions and other weapons to aid this age battle between female empowerment and male supremacy. B proves that she can rule her own empire without the protection of a man because fashion is the only armor that she needs.

The Looks
The music video is literally every fashion lover's dream as it is almost like a vogue photoshoot in motion. Here's a quick breakdown of some of my favourite key looks that Beyonce rocks in her video. From beginning to end it is clear that B and her stylists (including mama and designer Tina Knowles) put a lot of thought in to the pieces that are featured in this video. After watching the video I think its clear that Miss Knowles lives by one fashion rule , the more couture the better!

B's head wear is reminiscent of the extravagant crowns that Ancient Egyptian Emperors wore to signify their status in society.

B pays homage to the late great Alexander McQueen with these gorgeous Armadillo heels that were initially made famous by Lady Gaga in her iconic Bad Romance video.

Vogue Italia: Who runs the world? CURVY GIRLS!

The moment we have all been waiting for has finally arrived(fashionably late of course)
Franca Sozzani, has managed to do it again (following the Black Issue) and has created another iconic Vougue Italia cover and spread. This is truly historical moment, the June cover of Vougue Italia is bold, outspoken and a tad riskay as models Tara Lyn, Candice Huffine and Robyn Lawley pose in their lingerie.
