Trend Alert: The New Length, Meet the Midi

The Full Skirt
This time last year we saw 50's inspired full skirts taking over the a/w runways. It was all about volume. The bigger the better. Fashion houses such as Louis Vuttion, Marc Jacobs and Dior all embraced the bold statment in their a/w 10 collections, that the 'full skirt' was back with a vegenece with one mission; catwalk domination.

A year later...here we are , we have seen the 'full skirt' blossom internationally from designer to highstreet. Celebrities such as Ann Hathway and Rachel Bilson (see below) have both shown us how to wear the trend and have proved to be big fans the full skirt.

With a new season around the corner , I think that it is only right they we incoporate a new length in to our wardrobes. So without further ado , I introduce you to the Midi!
Meet the Midi...
Firstly let me say that I am absolutely obsessed with this new length. It's classy, sophisticated and very feminine. The year of the lady is back! What i love about the midi is that it so versatile. It can be worn casually with a sweater and then dressed up for evening out with the girls, with a pussybow blouse and a pair of platforms. The cuts and shapes of the midi also vary. So whether your a pleats queen or colour blocking freak, you are bound something that suits your style and will compliment your current wardrobe pieces.
