Hottest on the Highstreet: The Biker Jacket

So it's that time of year again, where we are all rustling through our wardrobes in attempt to salvage a passable piece of autumn/winter clothing under piles of sundresses and maxis (I for one, take at least an hour to find something to wear each morning).

Yes, dolls as sad as it is, autumn/winter is finally here! It's getting colder by the day. Which can only mean it's getting harder to put together outfits. Especially since every time I open my wardrobe, I am greeted with an unavoidable nostalgic air filled summer memories. Each item in my wardrobe tells a story. My pleated Maxi skirt reminds of summer barbecues. Whilst my Sun hat reminds me of my university's Art's Festival.

As we say goodbye to S/S11 and embrace the new trends, styles and shapes of this current season. It's important to understand what works this season and what doesn't.

This season is all about layering. And it's the only time in the year when you can get away with mixing and matching pretty much anything ( I use the term 'anything' loosely, basically anything within reason). All I needed was a few key statement pieces to update my current wardrobe.

The first thing that I desperately wanted was a decent Leather/Leather -look biker Jacket. The Biker, is a timeless piece that will never go out of style. Just because its so versatile. To find the perfect one for me, I searched high and low. And I ended up finding one in H&M which absolutely ADORE (see below in the Sue's Picks feature)!

The Style Inspiration
The orginal biker jackect rose to fame in the early 1940's with the help of style icon, Marlon Brando.

w some of you may think it's almost impossible to look faboulous without catching nomonia through this dreadful British weather. And by any means if this is the case , then unfourtunaltley my dear friends you are very WRONG. Remember guys its not what you wear but how you were it! a/w 11 is all about layering. It is the one season in the year were anything goes! As we all know, a/w 11 can only mean one thing....yes, yes you have guessed it...once again it is the return of the BIKER (glad to see some of us have our fashion caps on)!
